A new chapter begins: Hemel Catholic parishes have merged

Following extensive discussion and consultation, Cardinal Vincent has recently issued two Decrees, which announce the formal merger of Catholic parishes in Hemel Hempstead.

With retroactive effect from 1 January 2019, the parishes of Our Lady Queen of All Creation, Adeyfield, and the Church of the Resurrection, Grovehill, have merged to become Hemel East with the Churches of Our Lady Queen of All Creation and the Church of the Resurrection.

Father Kim Addison is appointed parish priest for Hemel East.

St Mark’s and St Mary & St Joseph have also merged, to become the single parish of Hemel West with the Churches of Ss Mary & Joseph and St Mark .

Father Paul McDermott is the parish priest for Hemel West.

Father Paul and Father Kim have commented on this matter in this week’s newsletter, which you can read by clicking here.

We look forward to the many opportunities this change will bring, and to working even more closely together as a united Catholic community.
